Interesting questions, @James Klynman
Something cool about the UK study was that it tested the 4-day workweek in different industries, including restaurants and hospitality. While these businesses would be open seven days a week, employees would only work four days, so it seems like it's up to managers to handle schedules.
While it may not be a government mandate, it's possible that a shorter week could become the norm if businesses make the decisions themselves.

Subject: 4 day week
The advantage of a 4-day work week is the ability to have more family/free time.
Question would it be for some working Monday thru Thursday and others Tuesday thru Saturday or have Wednesday off mid-week?
Each type of business would need to make the choice how it would work. I assume it then is 10-hour workdays.
Do we then close all businesses on Sunday, so everyone is off together?
There are too many unanswered questions as to the effectiveness of a 4-day week. How about teachers, postal workers, waiters, waitresses? The list can go on and on.
There should not be any government mandated decision on this. Each business should make up their own mind what works best for them.
