I ordered Girl Scout cookies this week and I can't wait for my delivery. I probably went a little overboard, but you can never have too many boxes of Thin Mints!

Since cookie season only comes once a year, here are some fun facts about America's favorite treat from the Girl Scouts' website

    • The first Girl Scout troop to sell cookies was located in Muskogee, Oklahoma. They began selling cookies in 1917.
    • In 1933, the Girl Scouts of Greater Philadelphia charged 23 cents a box for cookies.
    • During World War II, Girl Scouts sold calendars instead of cookies because of ingredient shortages. Sales spiked after the war.
    • 1966's bestselling cookies were Chocolate Mint, Shortbread, and Peanut Butter Sandwich cookies.
    • The treats became available online in 2014 with the launch of the Digital Cookie platform.

Hope you enjoyed these fun facts!
