I'd love to volunteer but without being able to leave the house, I don't know what I could do. Any ideas?

Do you sew?  I've been making masks from leftover fabric stuff. Your alderman's office can probably tell you where to donate them.

You can also write letters to people in rehab and nursing homes.  Check the Rotary FB page.  There was at least 1 facility listed.  I think it was Peggy Asseo who posted it.

Despite my mother's efforts, I never really learned to sew. But now is a good time to start. Great suggestion.

Did you check out the post from @Elisa Meggs? She had some great ideas on how to keep up your volunteering spirit during COVID-19.

Call people. Maybe ask a church member or community program if they have a phone bank. You would be surprised how happy some people are to talk to a non bill collector!

Great suggestions @Melissa Mitchell! Just the personal connections at a time like this can make all the difference.

My ward in Chicago has weekly virtual meetings for neighborhood volunteers! It helps match volunteers to community members who might be in need of connection. It also is looking for people who can sew or distribute masks that we are providing for free to our neighbors!
