Hello! We are the Adult Learners Program at Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC). We are seeking volunteers who can help adult learners with basic computers, reading, writing, English, and/or math skills for 90 minutes once a week. These adult learners are generally below the 9th grade level equivalent and come with a range of goals.
This is a virtual/remote tutoring opportunity. To volunteer for our in-person tutoring, sign up for this opportunity.
All JARC ALPS volunteers are provided with 12 hours of training before they begin with a learner and with curriculum to use with their learner. Perks of volunteering include opportunities for free professional development through Literacy Works, Chicago Citywide Literacy Coalition and other organizations.
To get started you attend an info session with the Director of the Adult Learners Program, Liz Czarnecki. If you would like more info feel free to call/text me at (224) 999-1302 or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!

At Jane Addams Resource Corporation (JARC)
, we support healthy communities and economies by teaching low-income adults and workers the skills they need to earn a living wage. But we go beyond basic skills training. We also connect job seekers with good jobs in the manufacturing sector, and we foster the life skills that create a path out of poverty.
